Human Rights
The Ontario Human Rights Code was designed to protect Ontarians against discrimination on different grounds. Those who have experienced discrimination may seek a remedy by making an application to the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.
What You Need To Know
The Tribunal has the authority to provide compensation to those who have suffered such discrimination. Discrimination often occurs in the employment context but can also occur as a consumer, or in other interactions with both individuals and businesses/organizations related to issues such as housing, contracts, good and services, facilities, membership in unions, trade or professional associations.
We have experience representing clients before the Human Rights Tribunal and have been successful obtaining compensation both through mediation and tribunal hearings.
