Yesterday Justices Michael Moldaver and Andromache Karakatsanis took their seats on the Supreme Court of Canada, replacing retiring Justices Ian Binnie and Louise Charron. They certainly have big shoes to fill – Binnie became known of one of the court’s top Judges, writing in many different areas, and Charron was one of the primary Judges to write criminal law decisions.
The video of their “welcome” ceremonies will soon be available here.
The Star had an interesting take on Moldaver’s appointment found here which highlighted various viewpoints on his somewhat controversial appointment.
